Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is a beautiful book that can be used to help introduce the concept of heaven and hell for kids. The authors relay a clear vision of what heaven and hell look like according to the Bible and clearly describe it whilst also referencing the relevant verses.

As a father, myself and my wife are often on the lookout for good Christian books for children. We are determined that our child be able to make their own faith decision but we want to be able to equip him to do so. This book does just that. It introduces not just the concept of heaven and hell but also how Jesus can communicate with us through dreams and visions. The language and words used are perfect for young children whilst also being true to the Bible. Often the book directly quotes scripture. Anytime it does not directly quote it they instead reference it at the bottom of the page. I could not be more positive about this book, having explored the verses they referenced, I as a mature Christian feel like my knowledge has grown.

Due to its short nature, I have read the book twice and even after a second reading, I have found only one slight negative. The description and image used for Jesus are a very Western image and not historically accurate. However, this is minor and does not affect the information the book gives or the enjoyment of it. Alongside all of the positives posted above, the book is also exceptionally well-edited and does not contain any errors.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book communicates an image of heaven following clear Bible passages that are easy to read and digest. The information is spread throughout the book allowing it to be easily digested. Not only does it do that but it boldly mentions hell alongside heaven and includes a prayer of faith for those that are reading it. In my search for appropriate Christian books for kids, this is top of my list.

I would recommend this book for children aged six and up, although this will vary based on the level of each child. If as a family you have experienced a loss of life or are expecting to, then this book is a great way to introduce and explain the concept of heaven and hell to your children.

We've longed to see the roses, but never felt the thorns
And bought our pretty crowns, but never paid the price
Find me in the river, find me there
Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

Thank you! I look forward to reading your review. As a young parent it is definitely a book I’ll revisit when my little boy is old enough!
