This book is the eighth instalment in the Inca Cat Detectives series. It is a children’s book and would take readers on an adventure. The furry family is about to make a dangerous move on the Korean Peninsula.

The furry family is visiting South Korea, as their human mom was to be a judge at a patisserie competition there. The pets were excited by this, and their adventure started on the plane to South Korea when their mom’s rival, who was also on the same flight, attempted to steal her cheese. They were welcomed by a tour guide, who offered to take the pets to his house during their visit. They befriend the tour guide puppy, who tells them about her close friend staying in North Korea with her master’s sister. After overhearing the humans’ conversation to take a risky move, the furry family decides to handle the situation and help reunite the tour guide and his sister. Grab a copy of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi for a fun-filled experience.

It is a 119-page book that features adventure. Although part of a series, this book is standalone and readable anytime. The book begins by describing each character with pictures for readers to visualize the story. It made good use of images, which increased the liveliness. It would make it more fun for children to read. The author is skilled at using animal expressions and onomatopoeia. The book will also inform readers about the dispute between North Korea and South Korea. It showed some rules maintained by these two nations for the existence of peace. The author did not seem to agree with this dispute.

I had no problem with this book. The book was error-free, owing to its exceptional editing. It was brief, and the author gave a great plot in just a few pages. After reading the book, I wanted to try other books in the series. The author used words that are understandable to children. It would be interesting for children to read because they are more interested in animal stories. I learned a lot from the book. It teaches cooperation by showing the teamwork displayed by the furry family. The characters were well-developed, and I loved the roles they played. I would rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.

Although this is a children’s book, it is readable by adults because of the information and facts it contains. I recommend the book to those seeking adventure.

The thing I admire the most about this book is the fact that even though it is learnt for children, it teaches about the politics of North and South Korea. This is a mature concept taught to intending children readers. Good job.
