Review of E M P Honeymoon
Kelly and Tom, a newlywed couple on their honeymoon, had no idea that the cheap honeymoon destination they discovered had a large load of trouble that threatens the civilization of the United States. Kelly did not know that a simple trip to a gift shop would lead to her collaborating with her husband Tom, her brother's secret intelligence, the CIA, and even the Space Forces to save the USA. Will the ostensibly poor country that the USA believes poses no threat and thus has no defense against be the one to conquer it?
One minute you are having a great time on your honeymoon, and the next you are snubbing around a terrorist's lair looking for more information on their activities. This was Kelly's reality. I respect her bravery because, as a civilian, she had the option to remain neutral and could have chosen to ignore what she saw or report it to the authorities. E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is about how a threat against the USA was discovered and neutralized, with a romantic undertone. It also tells the tale of Kim Jung Lo, an unknown hero whose courage led to the USA's victory.
My curiosity was piqued by the opening teaser, which led me to wonder, "Who are they?" Dr. Peter spoke about our vulnerability toward the use of electricity, which got me thinking a lot about how true this is. His conversation during the interview appeared authentic thanks to Dorothy May Mercer's thorough investigation into the subject matter and the inclusion of images. She included links to the images that sort of take you out of the fictional world and into the real one. It wasn't horrible because it helped me process the discussion more fully.
I truly appreciate the author's effort in compiling a Sources and Research section at the end of the book, which contains references and explanations on various subjects like "low earth orbit" and others that were briefly covered. That gave me additional knowledge about those terms. This book taught me a few things, including the danger electromagnetic pulse weapons represent, the necessity of never discounting even the most remote possibility, and the value of always being ready for anything.
The book was a bit fast-paced. It was also written in clear, understandable English, yet I wish Team USA had faced more difficulties in battling the terrorist because several things happened far too effortlessly. Other than that, I found nothing I disliked about this book.
Notwithstanding a few minor errors I discovered, I am confident that the book was professionally edited because they did not impair my ability to understand it. Because of this, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Also, I recommend it to readers who adore books on combating terrorism and thrillers.
