Review of Whole Lot of Hullabaloo

[Following is a volunteer review of "Whole Lot of Hullabaloo" by Christopher Fried.]
Whole Lot of Hullabaloo by Christopher Fried is a work of fiction that centres on Central University Ohio and the challenges of some individuals. It began at the beginning of the university term, and everyone (students, faculty members, and even the board of trustees) is striving to have the best academic year. The students work hard on their endeavours, whether balancing academic work and sports, focusing on making better grades than the previous term, or giving back to the community through extracurricular activities. Most of the university's responsibility falls on the university president, Sam Castle. He has to make tough choices for the growth of the university; he ensures that the reputation of the institution remains unblemished while maintaining order and providing a conducive environment for all the students on the campus. These responsibilities affected his personal life. He faced various challenges both in his career and his personal life, including a cheating wife and Black Arms, which is an organisation of people of African American descent that purports to fight for the rights of their brothers and sisters.
Christopher Fried did a fantastic job of bringing the various plots together; the resolution came as a surprise, and the storyline was thrilling; it kept me glued to the book till the end. I loved knowing how the characters scaled their hurdles. Christopher took us on an exciting journey. It was entertaining to watch the events unfold. He also brought to light the injustice in society, which was showcased when Ian Mueller was targeted by an organisation determined to bring him down, and also how an institution can bend due to pressure from external sources. It also depicts the life of university students, from the boring day-to-day life of lectures and studying to the fun socialising and partying aspect.
I wouldn't say I like how, at the beginning of the book, the author introduces different characters and tells the story from their perspective, which confused me.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It had a great ending. The major events were determined, and afterwards, the characters moved on and tried to learn and grow from their experiences. There was nothing to dislike. It was simple and easy to comprehend. All the characters were well-developed, and the story did not have a boring part. I encountered no errors while reading, showing that it was amazingly well-edited.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy fictional books on controversy and challenges. Readers will enjoy this book on a rainy day while sipping on a hot cup of cocoa.
