The Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back to 1947 when the United Nations adopted Resolution 181, also known as the Partition Plan. A few months later, the State of Israel is established, sparking a conflict between Israel and its Arabic neighbors. To this day, Israel and Palestine are still in a territorial dispute over the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

A Dream For Peace is an autobiography of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, a medical student from Algeria who later studied in the United States and became a diplomatic adviser under President Felix Houphouët-Boigny of Côte d'Ivoire. The book gives the readers information about Dr. Ghoulem Berrah’s early life in Algeria with his family, his life as a medical student in France, and the struggle for independence between France and its colonies. The book also gives the readers detailed information about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt in 1979. Finally, this book also contains detailed information on the Abrahamic religions, other African conflicts, and what happened to Algeria and Côte d'Ivoire later on.

A positive aspect of the book is that the author employed a narrative style and used simple diction. The autobiography is also broken down into multiple chapters for organization. These aspects made the book easy to understand for readers. This book included pictures, certificates, and letters that are related to the events in the book as evidence.

What surprised me the most about this book that is that it contains more details that are not in the synopsis. I also liked how the author implores us to be aware of the issues regarding poverty in African nations, what happened during the War on Terror, and how America can contribute to the world in a positive way. This way, the book can be an inspiration to people who want to help people from other countries that need help.

A Dream For Peace is a professionally edited book. In fact, there is only one error in the entire book. There is nothing in the book that I disliked. I give this masterpiece of a book five out of five stars. If you want to read about a great diplomat, this book is for you. This book is also recommended to people who want to study about the history of the Middle East and Africa. While many people find memoirs of real people to be boring, this book is still a good read.
