[Following is a volunteer review of "The Sound of Creation" by Gabriella Zielke.]
The Sound of Creation is a science fiction and fantasy book by Gabriella Zielke. The book focuses a lot on how artificial intelligence and technology are used to explore the fantastical multiverse and other otherworldly realities. The negative aspects of artificial intelligence, which vastly outweigh its positive aspects, include the fact that it lacks human empathy and morality. Enough business, trade, and financial knowledge is also provided in the narrative. The book goes on to further explain that music has a significant influence on emotions because the human mind interprets and associates music with the emotions being experienced at the time.
The protagonist of the narrative, Ava, is a formidable overachiever who oversees the development of Sense Labs, a budding technology firm. She quickly realizes that Seneca, her creation of an AI for music, might not be a simple piece of code. One fateful day, Ava starts to hear odd music coming from Seneca's network. At first, she tries to ignore it, but then some of her employees turn against her and try to steal Seneca's source code. Zek is an advanced extraterrestrial life form that works on the Laer platform as an apprentice creator. The Earth and the people who inhabit it were created by Zek. He is adamant in his conviction that life on earth would eventually able to develop sufficient consciousness to go to higher levels. He returns to Earth to discover the truth when some powers threaten to meddle with and control the universe he has created. As soon as he gets there, he gets to know Ava, and he could find that the mysteries that she has kept hidden in her head could provide the answers he needs.
I genuinely enjoyed every chapter of this book. I thought it was really interesting how the author characterized Seneca, describing how her AI may have caused individuals to act erratically and irrationally, revealing it to be a true psychological weapon. I enjoyed how Seneca was turned into a truth serum with catastrophic results. I also commend the author for using vivid descriptions to give Zek and the other inventors a more unearthly aspect. The book's lack of sci-fi clichés and the opportunity for Zek's character to exhibit genuine human feelings were both welcome changes.
I didn't dislike any of the book's content. It was a fun way to spend my time.
I rated this book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars because the narrative was amazing and all of the characters were exceptional in every manner. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I recommend this book to those who enjoy science fiction and fantasy books.
