[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven!" by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul.]
Snatched up to Heaven by Jemima and Arvind Paul is a book detailing the testimonies of Heaven and Hell from the perspectives of their children. The narrative explains how their children understand Heaven, and how they visualise it. The book explains who is in Heaven, and what the experiences of those in Heaven are like. The text describes Hell, who goes to Hell, and the experiences of those who are there. Each book chapter is introduced with the vision of Jemima Paul’s children. In this description, we receive a description of Heaven, Hell, or another concept in the book. The visions are followed by the interpretation of Paul, as well as an explanation of the visions and how that relates to the Bible and teachings of Christianity. It is an informative and easy-to-read text, which provides insights into a perspective of the Christian faith system.
The book uses direct references to the Bible. This is useful, as it helps the reader make a connection between the authoritative text. It also provides support for the concepts presented by Paul and her children. This presents the book as reliable and well-researched. I also found the structure of the book easy to follow; the use of chapters for each idea which are separated into the children’s visions, and an explanation, make it consistent. The drawings of the children included at the end of the book are cute and heart-warming. It shows that the children have a deep interest in their faith. In reading this book, it becomes very clear that Jemima Paul is a well-educated writer and has a great depth of knowledge in the area.
I did not find any faults in this book. As it is a deeply religious book, one cannot fault the ideas presented. I also cannot fault the way that it is written, as I find it a thorough, well-structured perspective. I learnt a lot by reading it.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars . This is because it is insightful, interesting and engaging. The book is edited professionally, and there were no grammatical errors.
This book is targeted to Christian parents, hoping to explain the beliefs of the faith to their children. It promotes a wholistic view of the faith system and would be useful in education settings. I don’t believe this book would be suitable for anyone who is not Christian, however it could be an interesting read to learn about a new worldview.
