Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an enchanting tale of adventure, hope, and survival. The story revolves around the life of Galen, a young man born and raised in a land of greed, poverty, and power-hungry monarchs. Tired of his miserable life, Galen yearns to leave the Land of the Princes and embark on a journey to find a better life. However, his dream seems impossible to achieve since he has no money and there is only one ship that sails out of the island once every few months. But a ray of hope shines on Galen when a stranger hands him a paper that could take him to his uncle in Voulhire. Galen jumps at the chance and sets off on a journey that will change his life forever. As he arrives in Voulhire, Galen is awestruck by the beauty of the land. He is mesmerized by the stunning architecture, the vibrant culture, and the friendly people. However, beneath the surface of this paradise, there is a looming danger that threatens to destroy everything Galen has come to love. Meldorath, the most powerful wizard in human history, is captured and left helplessly on an island. The wizard has been lying in wait for his arrival, plotting his revenge against the people of Voulhire. Meanwhile, on the other end of the empire, the fierce rebels of Riva Rohavi are preparing to launch an attack on Voulhire, fueled by their hatred towards its citizens. Amidst this chaos, Galen finds himself caught in the middle of a battle between good and evil. He must use his wits, courage, and strength to survive the challenges that come his way. Along the way, he meets new friends, discovers hidden secrets, and uncovers the truth about himself.
The first book in the series, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, is an excellent introduction to the world of Voulhire. The book is full of suspense, action, and intrigue, keeping the readers on the edge of their seats. Matthew Tysz has done an excellent job of creating a captivating world with richly drawn characters, intricate plots, and a well-crafted narrative.
I enjoyed reading this book. It has amazing world-building and characterization. This book has an engaging plot with various memorable characters, which encourages readers to anticipate the next installment.
The only thing I disliked about this book was the sudden changes of perspectives, which made the story seem a bit abrupt at times. Though the book seems professionally edited.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy books with a touch of action.
