Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Matthew Tysz wrote the book We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. Have you ever imagined how people who live in war zones cope? Indeed, the majority of them wouldn't mind finding routes of escape just to flee to a safe environment. This was what Galen experienced in the lands of the princes for twenty years. He reached his limit of endurance and decided to escape from the dangerous zone. As he was running, he observed that some men trailed him; this made him run faster until he begged a captain at the sea to take him to a safe place. After a few interrogations, the captain willingly assists Galen onto a ship filled with some other individuals. This was how the journey to Voulhire began for Galen. Voulhire was a magnificent country to behold. Galen also felt welcomed by its occupants. However, with the presence of a few people who chose to disobey the laws of the land and individuals who had supernatural powers, Galen knew he had to adapt to his new home. Along the way, the executor of his late uncle, named Rowan, informs him of the huge properties that his uncle left behind, which he, Galen, must take control of. Did Galen finally adapt to changes in his new abode while also having access to his uncle's properties? Uncover the details in this book.
Galen's story was one of survival because he never enjoyed the best of life in his land. The effects of the war ravaged his nation, and this resulted in a great hunger in the land. Imagine the feeling of having to cope with poverty and war. I love that Galen's entry into Voulhire brought a breath of fresh air into his life. Furthermore, Galen's journey from the land of princes to Voulhire was a remarkable one. Notwithstanding that fear developed in him because he thought he would get caught by the men in his land who went after him when they discovered that he wanted to flee to another place, I was thrilled that he had the best time during his journey as a result of the stories of the old man with them in the ship. For a while, the stories made him forget about the war zone he had just escaped from. In addition, I learned from this book that the only thing that can bring an ongoing war in a nation to an end is peace. The Voulhire government tried its best to let the government of the land of princes embrace peace so that their land would be great once again. However, they failed to adhere to that.
Most nations demand legal proof from anyone who wants to leave their home country and come over to theirs. Entering the country without showing proof to the authorities in charge is considered illegal. I was intrigued by the fact that Galen's move was strategic; before he decided to go to Voulhire, he got his documents ready. This made it very easy for the captain he met at the seaside to accept him on board his ship. Galen would have remained stuck in his land if he hadn't gotten the required proofs.
I didn't find any reason not to rate this book five out of five stars. I disliked nothing in it. It was exceptionally edited. Although the events in this story were a work of fiction, there were so many lessons that I learned, and this can be summarized by the fact that war causes more harm than good. It stops the productivity of a nation, whereas peace brings growth.
The only group of people that would enjoy this book very much are keen readers of fictional stories, readers of war thrillers, detesters of war, lovers of peace, and individuals who want to know what it takes to survive as a migrant in another country. Therefore, I recommend this book to them.
