[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Science fiction with action, EMP Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom by Dorothy May Mercer held my interest from start to finish. The storyline and flow of the action never became monotonous. Because I couldn't foresee what would happen next, I was somewhat interested in the book the entire time. I had to finish the book in a single day because I had to know what happened next.
Kelly and Tom, a newlywed couple who were on their honeymoon, are followed through their lives by the author. Kelly unintentionally came upon terrorists who, as she subsequently learned, were planning to blow up the country with the help of cutting-edge but unproven warheads. Along with other Americans, Kelly and Tom made an effort to stop them, which made them put a hold on their honeymoon. How well will they do? Learn more by reading this book.
All of the characters were well-developed, which gave me the impression that they were actual people. I really like the author's use of chapter titles that provided readers with information about what would come next. This made it clearer what the characters were doing and where they were at a given moment. The book's thorough research demonstrates the author's level of commitment to it; she expertly collected all the information about the EMP, warheads, CIA officials and how they operated, as well as how terrorists behave overseas. In order for people to grasp the scientific terminology used in the book, it was thoroughly clarified.
I felt it was beneficial that the author provided explanations of the denouement at the end of the book, including minor information omitted for readers' ease of comprehension. For readers to clearly grasp what was happening in that moment, the author additionally translated the foreign languages that were used in the novel.
I found nothing in the book to be objectionable. It was clearly written, carefully edited, and reader-friendly. Everything was flawless, and I commend the editor for their excellent work. I think readers will learn a lot about nuclear warfare and how terrorists operate from this book.
Since there is no justification for a lower rating, I give this book five out of five stars. It is a well-written book that has undergone expert editing. The book was flawless, and the author did an outstanding job of explaining everything to me. I suggest it to readers who like science fiction and thrillers. Both adults and teenagers can enjoy this book.
