[Following is a volunteer review of "Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula" by R.F. Kristi.]

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the eighth book in the series, and it is about Inca, a detective cat who resembles a Siberian tiger except for her small stature. Together with her other furry pals, she's formed a detective agency that will snoop around and solve every case that comes up. In this series, they accompanied their human companions, Missy and Solo, to the Korean Peninsula for a cooking competition aimed at bridging the divide between North and South Korea. There they wished to return Ye-Jun's sister and her best friend, Bo Mi, from North Korea to South Korea. Will their schemes work, or will they be apprehended and jeopardize the peace talks?
 
First, I'd like to appreciate the book's concept: a peace talk between North and South Korea. It's not something most authors would consider writing as a children's book, yet it was entertaining and well-executed. Also, R.F. Kristi's reference to Inca's miniature statue and saying he walks like a Siberian tiger made me think the message was to encourage children to walk boldly, no matter how small they may appear among their peers. Inca and her pals were also very brave and honorable in their willingness to help save Ye-Jun's sister and their human companions. This book has a lot to say about friendship and devotion.
 
Despite the fact that it was a children's book, the author did an excellent job of describing the scenarios, and the descriptions of emotions were both accurate and humorous. The illustrations were really amusing, particularly the "smarty pants" joke, which will greatly aid a child's creativity.
 
There was nothing I didn't enjoy about the book; it was fast-paced, as a children's book should be, and plenty of fun. Because I detected no errors in this book, I believe it was exceptionally well-edited.
 
Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to curious children who enjoy books on detective work. Although it is intended for children, adults will love it as well, and it will make an excellent pleasure read and bedtime story for your children.

This review is quite intriguing. It provides information about Korea's geography as a whole, its population, and its culture. Another intriguing aspect of this book was the interaction between humans and animals. This review is excellent.
