[Following is a volunteer review of "Always Strive to Be a Better You" by Pete Hall.]
Pete Hall captivates you in his book ‘Always strive to be a better you ’. He brings up some of life's most daunting woes: something better, something greater, our long unfinished goal, our soon to be ‘next big success story’, who we are and where are we going? And presents an answer to each through simple anecdotes that capture the lives of seven everyday ordinary people who do extraordinary things in their lives. In his book, he teaches you how to set goals, build relationships and achieve dreams that were long forgotten, thrown and buried.
He shows us that we all are in pursuit of ‘-er’ (something more) ,as he calls it and describes how we can achieve it. Pete breaks down the strategy of achieving a ‘better you’ by following 13 simple keys.
The book itself uses a mix of reality and humor that brings you hope and revelation through every personal recollection of the lives of Pete and his fellow ‘stars’. I really enjoyed reading about the perspectives of other people, their challenges and outcomes and learning many new keys to resolve areas of life that not many people talk about and know how to solve.
What I liked the most about the book was the pause and reflect boxes. It served as a reminder to put action into practice and firmly ‘put your feet on the floor’ as Pete puts it. Each key is simple, applicable and can work for anyone willing to try it. The book is easy to follow as Pete navigates through different scenarios and lives.
I found no negative aspects in this book as I was impressed by it and found it to be perfectly edited.
I laughed and felt uplifted from reading each page and truly each word was like a drop of air to my lungs. It inspires you and creates a feeling of warmth and passion that drives you and so I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for being totally ‘awe’ inspiring.
I recommend this book to anyone with an urge for self improvement and have read similar books such as Switch on your brain by Caroline Leaf and How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie.
