[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Senator Mike McBride receives a frantic call from the Caribbean island of Honduras. Since he knows no one who would be able to reach him directly outside of family and close friends, he is persuaded to hang up, thinking it is a joke. The newlyweds, Kelly, who is Mike's sister, and Tom Turbulo, were on their honeymoon. Kelly takes a different route for a drive as Tom leaves to explore the sea. Kelly chooses to stop in a store on a side street during a three-hour journey across the island in order to find presents for her family. She notices that the bus is nowhere to be seen while she is on it, so she decides to look for a clerk to help her finish her transaction quickly. Kelly goes the extra mile and decides to check the room, which has restricted access. She finds a room equipped with high-level technology. In no time, she is attacked. She struggles to speed off, and now she is in hot pursuit of armed men. The beeping of computers confirms the strange behavior, and she eventually makes it back to the villa, where she tells her brother about it. She later informs Tom, and together they roll out investigations to get more information about the pigsty.
I found E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer to have a particularly high level of suspense. I was compelled to continually pay close attention, and I had to read more to sate my hunger. Events move quickly throughout the book, which adds to its dynamic nature. I found Peter Kinney to be impressive. He was quite witty and sarcastic while imparting his knowledge, which I thought was extremely impressive. Excellent writing is used by the author. The right narrative twists and events were perfectly highlighted by the personalities that were there. If the readers choose to take up and read this book for themselves, they will find a lot of satisfaction in it. The inclusion of references and research at the book's conclusion was one of my favorite aspects, and I learned a lot from it.
I had no issues with this book. It's difficult to put the book down because the author has such engrossing stories. She gave an insight into two different walks of life, so there was a lot to be learned from this. There are people who have poorly thought-out plans to destroy the world, and there are people who are prepared to take the high road to prevent it.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. Due to my involvement with one of the author's works, I was unable to take away a star, which demonstrates the author's extensive knowledge of how to attract readers. There were no grammatical errors that I could find while reading through, which made me believe the book was well written and exceptionally edited.
I recommend this book to people who like interesting, action-packed adventure tales with a dash of romance. There's a lot of suspense, which I found spiced up the read.
