[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
The best adventure book I've ever read is Man Mission: Four Men, Fifteen Years, One Epic Journey, a chronicle of an adventure story by Eytan Uliel. Eytan gives a detailed narrative account of how he and his three friends were able to achieve the objective they set for themselves at the beginning of a fifteen-year epic quest. The book is worth reading because it makes so much sense and has lots of lessons to teach.
Eytan and his friends started out on the adventurous journey while in law school with the goal of traveling around the world and meeting people of different cultures and ethics. However, family and other social responsibilities encroached on their project as an impediment, but they made efforts to meddle with the circumstances. This was achieved by setting aside one week a year for a specific country visit, which they did for fifteen years, corresponding to fifteen different countries. Sometimes they do this by making long treks, riding bicycles, or sailing on boats. According to the author, sometimes they sustain injuries or meet deadly animals, yet they enjoy the adventure of exploring people of different cultural backgrounds and are never restricted or relented.
I appreciate the author's perseverance with his friends in ensuring that their missions were accomplished despite the challenges they met on the way to their adventures. The write-up was simplified, concise without any ambiguity or additional language aside from English, and easy to understand. The author also did a marvelous job by creating a map preceding each chapter in the storyline and adding a brief summary of each country covered at the end of the chapter. This makes the work unique, in addition to the fact that it is a self-experience and life story.
The history led me to believe that completing such a time-consuming endeavor would simply require discipline and persistence. I also learned a lot about the importance of exposure to people around the world through adventure, as it will make one learn about their culture and geography. I learned to believe more in teamwork with people who share the same passion and goal, especially for long-term projects. Again, I realized that working together will make you know more about your team members.
I so much enjoyed the whole story and, as such, could not find any drawbacks or negative aspects within the book context, so I didn't dislike it. There are no profane words used by the author in his storyline. There are no typos or grammatical errors because the book was exceptionally well edited. For the reasons above, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend the book to travelers and those who love adventure books.
