I occasionally overhear people saying that it is simpler to trust some animals than some humans. At first, I took it as an insult, but after giving it some more thought, I realised there was some truth to it. The characters portrayed by animals, especially pets, are quite amazing, and R.F. Kristi's book Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula demonstrates how having pets can make life easier for people. The Siberian cats Inca, Fromage, Cara, Monk, Charlotte, Terrance, and Polo are all included in this fascinating and vibrant children's book. These cats gained popularity in England and France as a result of their assistance in various detective cases.

The family of cat detective Inca is travelling to South Korea. Missy, her biological mother, has been chosen by Le Cordon Bleu to serve as a judge for a French patisserie competition that will take place in South Korea. Missy has made the decision to use this occasion to showcase her recently made, unique cheese. The cats arrived at their location and were greeted by Ye Jun, a native English and Korean speaker who would act as their tour guide and translator. Ye Jun offered to host them because it would be preferable to them sleeping in a cramped hotel room. They learned there about Ji, his sister. She is competing as well and owns a cat by the name of Bo-Mi.

This is a lovely book with interesting pictures and a straightforward plot. I appreciated how the author included information in the book. The Siberian Tigers, North and South Korea, and their customs are all included in the book. Through the novel, the author also tries to teach us that we can do anything to defend the people we care about. She also illustrated this through specific events, such as when the pets foiled Enzo's scheme, Ji was concerned about Bo-Mi, the pet worried about Solo for breaching the rules, and so forth. The story was made more amusing by the accompanying images.

I would rate this book five out of five stars. Nothing about the book actually bothers me. There was nothing I would want to change about the book, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. With the exception of a few misspelt words and minor spelling mistakes that I spotted, the book was faultless. The book's concepts and lessons appealed to me. It was exceptionally well edited.

I recommend this book for kids because it was created with them in mind. There is no sexual material in it. I enjoyed reading it, but it can also be read by adult audiences that appreciate learning about animal life.
