This one is a definite 5/5 for me. I would say this is 18+ as there is some sexual content, but only in thought and not actual scenes. There is also profanity, as one can expect for 20 something year old characters. There were no noticeable errors or typos, and if there are, the storyline was so good I didn’t notice!
I absolutely loved how the female main character was written. A lonely witch without a coven, family, or friends who works overnight at a gas station. Her internal dialogue is quite a lot of rambling, but that is on par with someone who characterizes themselves as awkward, anxious, and needing more social contact. She isn’t supposed to use too much magic, because it could alert surrounding covens to her which would be dangerous. Her parents always homeschooled her and sheltered her from the outside world for her safety, but they unfortunately get murdered so she’s been on her own since. She lives in a cottage in the middle of a forest surrounded by her garden. During one of her shifts, a large very attractive man comes in needing to buy ice. She overhears a conversation he has on the phone mentioning a fever. As he cashes out she tells him a mixture of herbs/plants he can use to help with a fever. After that shift, she ends up making the mixture into a tea and driving back to her job to leave with her coworker in case he comes back. He does come back and takes the tea and it’s then he finds out she’s a witch. Apparently witches & Lycans (werewolves) do not get along, but he recruits her to help care for his friend. From there she’s surrounded by the pack which is made up of four guys. Her dialogue with each of them is different in their own way and her internal dialogue really captures her thought process in navigating the different personalities and conversations. I definitely had some laugh out loud moments, which is rare for me! The rest of the book is a span over a few weeks as she tries different spells/remedies to help the wolf but has no luck. The development of her relationship with each of them individually and collectively as a group was fun to read. There was no sexual conduct between them, but the girl is crushing on them for sure. The book ends on a cliff hanger. I really wished this book was longer so I could continue their story. That would be my only gripe with it, I want more!
