Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a memorable travel memoir. It comprises 379 pages. The book is about four friends: Eytan, Sam, Daniel, and Alec, who annually go on different adventure trips to refresh, rewind, and live according to their own charter. Yes, they have something they call “The Man Mission Charter.” These are some actual rules or guiding principles they follow for every trip. It felt weird to follow them, but they did so without complaint.

Eytan and Sam are the founders of Man Mission, Daniel is “The Organizer,” and Alec is the Alpha male. On these annual trips, they go cycling, hiking, and kayaking, and they try to make it more crazy and adventurous every year. We read the story from Eytan’s first-person perspective.

It was interesting to read how they change from college boys to working adults with families and responsibilities and still go on fifteen annual men’s trips.

I had a peal of hearty laughter when they met their doppelgangers and chatted on a topic unsuitable for kids. They were like strangers, but that chat made them familiar and also made them share a laugh together. I also witnessed a life falling apart in a communist party-members-only resort. They had some close-to-death experiences with deadly animals just a few feet away, had a wild ride in a truck filled with contraband, and cycled to their destination in the wilderness late in the dark. Similar incidents taught the friends lots of stuff, and one of the things they learned was that “Life is precious.”

Eytan’s language is easy to comprehend, employing simple yet vivid descriptions. I liked how he calls the stars in the sky like a jewel-covered blanket; it brings a sparkling blanket to mind that is beautiful to look at.

I rate Man Mission five out of five stars. I give it five stars for all the above reasons. There was nothing I disliked about it. A professional has skillfully edited the book, and I found no grammatical errors.

If you’re searching for something new to read and you want a book that can provide a getaway, Eytan Uliel’s book is the one for you. Also, if you like traveling with friends, you will love this travel memoir. It lists all the great locations, adventurous sports, injuries sustained, and the route and mode of transportation. So bring out the traveler in you and have an epic time reading the book.

This book is amazing and so is your review! We all have responsibilities and when the guardians want to do things of their own, they won't be able to, but this book has taught all of us that there's more to life outside and doing adventurous things makes our life more memorable and connected to life more intensely.
