High Crimes Against the Crown follows the life story of Conor Caldemeyer, who is a police officer. Months after his new job, he is assigned to look out for three inmates at a roadblock, which goes horribly wrong. He suffers from multiple injuries, and his job is on hold for a year. He travels to Ireland with his best friend, Alec. He then meets an Irish, red-haired woman named Biili and falls in love with her. He goes to meet Billi's relatives, who are all members of the Resistance, including Billi. Soon, his trip to Ireland turns out to be his worst nightmare as he gets involved with the members of the Resistance. What crimes does Conor get involved in, and what are his consequences? Is Billi his true love, or will there be someone else? Why is he on the run? Read this story to find out about the amusing adventures and unexpected twists in the life of Conor Caldemeyer.

This book by Patrick DeVaney is a brilliant story that has adventure, romance, crime, suspense, and comedy. It has an excellent sense of humor and can make any reader laugh and have fun while reading. It has witty responses that get you smiling even at the worst moments. It takes readers on an amazing, beautiful journey and makes us know more about the past of Ireland. On this journey of Conor's, he goes through many challenges, struggles, and grief after being separated from his first lover, Gwendolyn, who repeatedly haunts him in his dreams.

The different images, fonts, writing styles, and parts divided in the book make the readers understand and be more influenced by reading the book. The scenes and characters are perfectly brought together. Our protagonist, Conor, is a kind, loyal, and compassionate person, which makes the book more captivating and heartfelt.

This book teaches us about having hope and always being grateful for what we have left. It also teaches us to be honest and not trust anyone blindly. I rate this book five out of five stars . I did not find any negative features in this book for someone not to like it. It has been well edited, as I have found no errors.

I recommend this book to teenagers above the age of eighteen and also to people who love to read novels about crime. It has an amazing plot, a beautiful setting for the story, and amazing characters that make the book interesting.
