We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fantasy book divided into over twenty chapters that center on a character named Galen Bray. Galen is a young, fine man in his 20s who came from the Land of the Princes, a country that suffered great catastrophe during the civil war, resulting in poverty and great famine. After his rich uncle handed over his wealth, he moved to a better place, Voulhire, a kingdom known for its rich diversity and sorcery. He was determined to make a name for himself in his new country.

The book didn't just talk about the story of Galen but also concerned itself with other characters, such as the king of Voulhire, Wilhelm. King Wilhelm is a man who lusts for power. Due to his desperation to stay in power, he betrayed and manipulated people, such as his friend, and was willing to take the lives of others. Read this novel, and you will get to see how the adventures of Galen connect to the dark secret of King Whilem.

There are some things I love about the novel. First, I love the fact that it includes magic in the storyline to solve some problems, such as crimes. I also love how a detailed map of Voulhire and other locations is showcased in the novel. In addition, I like the idea of how each character is listed in the book before the start of the story. This made it easy for me to know each of the characters' roles.

The novel is professionally written. I didn't notice any grammatical or typographical errors. The characters captivate my attention, especially the central character, Galen. I really love how the story shifted from Galen, a mere adventurer, to Wilhelm, the king of Voulhire. This change of major character from Galen to King Wilhelm seems to confuse me, but until I read further and saw how these two characters connect themselves. Since the story is written in simple language that anybody can understand, I will rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I will also rate it five stars because I am unable to find any flow in the text.

The novel does contain some profanity and some violence, like killing, which is unsuitable for children. I will recommend this novel to anyone over 14 who is a lover of fantasy and adventure stories.
