[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]

Galen Bray departs the war-torn land of the Princes for Magnum Caelum to claim his inheritance willed to him by his uncle, which made him a bonified citizen of Voulhire. He met with the uncle's executor, who officially handed him his inheritance, including a business he must learn to manage. Voulhire is in a critical period when Galen arrives in the kingdom, and the Rohavians are waiting for the best opportunity to strike. Following an investigation that indicted Hilport's former lord and potent mage, Meldorath, King Wilhelm appointed Eldus, a judge, as the province's lord to help the city become an economic hub. The new lord of Hilport and his family are poised to lead the city of Hilport to economic success, and Galen has found a purpose in his new home to continue his uncle's legacy in the forge.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first part of the "We are Voulhire" series and is written in an episodic style. This episode explores inheritance, personal development, leadership tussles, trust, and betrayal. The story is heavy on politics, spirituality, religion, and magic. Some citizens possessed magic power and required law enforcers who also knew how to will magic power. The book contains premedieval and medieval elements like riding and fighting on horseback and using bows, arrows, and swords in fight and war scenes. The plots are captivating, engaging, and exciting, which helps summarize and communicate the themes to the reader.

There are various degrees of conflict in this book. The Rohavians is a persistent internal enemy that threatens the prosperity of the kingdom of Voulhire. Galen Bray also faces challenges as he must confide in and trust someone or persons who will help him navigate his new profession and manage his uncle's business. The personalities of notable characters are well-developed, with various aspects and transformations of characters exciting and entertaining. Each chapter is named after a character and concentrates on the events around the surface to move the narrative forward. The author used vivid words to describe elements in every scene, ensuring the reader is fully immersed in the author's imagination.

I enjoyed the author's description of fight scenes using words describing the body dynamics while engaged in a duel. Also, the definition of magic phenomena was not left out. The author balanced world-building, character development, and dialogue to keep a steady pace and engage the reader. The map at the beginning of the book aided my imagination in getting a view of the kingdom of Voulhire, its cities, and its provinces. While reading, I found no typographical or grammatical errors, proving this book is exceptionally well-edited. For these reasons, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found nothing negative about this book.

This book is recommended to sci-fi and fantasy lovers. This book will also appeal to anyone who loves magic-themed literary works.

The review was well written as it focused on the main purpose of the book. The author used each of the primary characters in such a way that they performed their roles well in accordance with the book.

It is good that the author balanced world-building, character development, and dialogue to keep a steady pace and engage the reader. People get easily distracted nowadays so doing this would make the reader focused.
