In Mercer's novel "Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War," Cynthia Patterson, who had a minor role in Dorothy May Mercer's previous novel, "EMP Honeymoon," continues her job as a bodyguard for Senator Mike McBride. However, now she collaborates with her brother, Glenn, in combating terrorism both domestically and internationally. In order to further their mission, Cynthia dedicated time to researching and interviewing individuals with specific abilities who could assist them. She discovered a highly qualified candidate working in the same office complex, possessing the required computer skills and a willingness to aid in their cyber warfare against the terrorists. Cynthia's absence from work due to an unexpected event led her to spend the entire afternoon with a newly acquainted individual named Sky Eastman. They went out for lunch and later visited his apartment, where he prepared a beverage for her and showed her his game room. Sky then suggested watching a movie together, which Cynthia enjoyed, along with other activities, before he eventually escorted her back home. After a restful nine-hour sleep, Cynthia awoke to discover multiple messages on both her cell phone and home phone from her boyfriend, Dan, expressing concern for her well-being. It was at that moment that she realized that she had made plans with Dan the previous evening for dinner and a movie. She faced the challenge of explaining this situation to him. Find out what happened next by obtaining a copy.

I was intrigued by Cynthia accompanying Sky to his apartment despite their limited acquaintance, yet she hesitated to disclose her age due to the risk of revealing too much personal information. Moreover, I disliked the inclusion of the book's title and author before each chapter, which appeared unnecessary. Additionally, the majority of the chapters were excessively short, depriving the reader of ample time to immerse themselves in the scenes.

I enjoyed witnessing Cynthia's journey of self-discovery as she embraced independence. After dedicating a significant amount of time attempting to conform to Dan's desires, it was refreshing to see her honesty with him about their relationship, even though it ultimately resulted in their breakup. Cynthia acquired the ability to handle various challenges on her own, relinquishing her dependence on others for problem-solving. Additionally, I appreciated the well-placed headings that marked scene transitions within chapters, making it effortless to locate and follow the unfolding events.

This novel is a great choice for romance enthusiasts, but it offers much more than just that. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy spy novels, anti-terrorism narratives, or stories featuring a strong female protagonist. It can be enjoyed by readers of any age; younger audiences might find it challenging to connect with the story.

I give this novel a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. In my opinion, it was flawlessly edited, and I couldn't find any errors or anything to dislike about this book. The primary focus of this book was on combating terrorist activities rather than the romantic aspect. It successfully kept me engaged with its intriguing plot, leaving me guessing throughout, and it also added an extra layer of interest with elements of crime fighting.

Good review! It's nice to hear that you enjoyed the book. Cynthia learnt about self dependence, great. I've had a chance to read the book, and I didn't really enjoy it much, though. But I liked reading your views. Keep it up.

I feel like Dan has no much role in it as his name in the title shows it is more about Cynthia. Your review is detailed and thorough I enjoyed reading it.
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

This was a great review. I was very interested in Cynthia’s new relationship with Sky and how it began. For such an intelligent individual she didn’t seem to understand the basics.

I'm still wondering how revealing her age is too personal, but going home and doing 'various activities' with him is fine.
But, okay.
I enjoyed reading your detailed review.

Cynthia forgot she had dinner with her boyfriend, Dan, she later fell for Sky a total stranger. There is more to this. This is an interesting book for lovers of romance. Cynthia's role in fighting cybercrime is commendable.

I was disappointed at Cynthia in this book. I guess the author just wanted to use it as a plot twist. Dan does not deserve that kind of thing. Welldone!

The reviewer's detailed description of Cynthia's encounter with Sky at his apartment highlights an intriguing aspect of the book. The reviewer's curiosity about Cynthia's decision and their subsequent activities adds an element of suspense and leaves me intrigued to know more. This particular scene creates anticipation for the story's development and sparks my interest in getting a copy of the book to uncover what happens next.

The mention of the book's title and author before each chapter may disrupt the flow of the story and seem unnecessary to some readers. Furthermore, the short chapters may hinder readers from fully immersing themselves in the scenes and connecting with the characters and events.
