[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We are Voulhire: Matthew Tysz's A New Arrival under Great Skies takes place in Voulhire, a nation ruled by King Wilhelm. The southern regions of Hillport, Magnum Caelum, and Voulhire are the main focus of the narrative. Lord Eldus Alderman is sent to Hillport to put things right after a tragedy, while Galen Bray from the Lands of the Princes arrives in Magnum Caelum almost simultaneously to take over his uncle's management of the business.
With tales of sorcery and royalty, this book entertained me while I read. Toward the start of the book, the writer gives a guide on the character foundation of the story, coupled with a link to the writer's site for more profound clarification. This really means a lot to me; it truly assists me with understanding the story better and with picturing the scenes in the book.
Rowan has a great personality, a great sense of humor, and is a joy to be around. He didn't have to go to the extent that he accomplished for Galen, as he was the agent of Galen's uncle's domain as well as turned into a companion and a decent counsel to Galen. I love that the map helped Galen and Rowan along their journey and find their way to the cities of Voulhire. The glossary toward the end of the book was exceptionally accommodating, as I could comprehend specific terms and the names of individuals referenced.
Despite the fact that I was confused while reading due to the numerous characters and locations, it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Perhaps it is due to the fact that this is the first book in the series and I am not yet familiar with the setting.
I really enjoy the author's detailed writing style because it helps me visualize the book's scenes and makes it easier for me to comprehend the plot. I won't hesitate to give it a rating of five out of five stars. It has been professionally edited, so I know there are no technical or writing errors.
This book is ideal for fantasy fans and lovers of mystery, suspense, and sorcery. However, the amount of violence may make it inappropriate for younger readers.
