Job knew she was the one since the moment Ix’ises was born.
Ix’ises thanked the god she recently started believing in for the most wonderful, blessed life any woman could hope for. Little did she know a ferocious storm was creeping her way. “Lord giveth and Lord Taketh away, Ix’ises. Blessed be the name of God” said her beloved Job in fruitless hopes to bring his wife back.
Will she ever recover from the immeasurable losses God so cruelly imposed on her? This story entails the struggles of an innocent woman to justify the wrath of god.
A romantic tragedy based on characters from the bible and set in the arid rural parts of Uz.
An exceptional book for the true believers and those on the precipice of faith. Mind opener for readers with religious predilection.

The author paints an apt picture of the lifestyle of those who lived in the biblical era, simplistic, straightforward though not far from challenging. She reminds us that Sickness and poverty have never left mankind and we have an integral role in the causation and abolishment of it.She portrays nature in a strikingly serene manner in addition to the characters that go with it.
It gives us a glimpse into the past and the religious beliefs common man struggled with. The book’s standing on morality is sky high. Cynthia instills the qualities of empathy, compassion, cooperation and lastly benevolence in majority of the characters.

The parts which I found slightly out of context were the epigraphs. Wondrously drafted, in par with the overall theme of the book but not with specific chapters at the beginning of which they are written. I would rate it as 3 out of five.

Reaching out to all the theists and agnostics I am certain The Legacy of Job’s wife will unquestionably warm your heart in favour of god.
