Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe is a children's book centered on two siblings, Donny and Mary Grace, and their adventures in California. It contained themes of family, love, and adventure.

Donny Miller and Mary Grace Miller were siblings. Donny had Down syndrome. As his older sister, Mary Grace always protected him. They lived in Kansas with their parents. Their parents informed them that they had been assigned a missionary trip to Kenya for two years. During that period, the children were to stay with their grandparents, Grandma Cathy and Papa Steve, in California. Mary Grace did not handle the information quite well, but she had to go along with it. In California, Mary Grace and Donny faced some situations. Read this book to find out more.

It was wonderful reading about the different adventures Donny and Mary Grace had in California. It was also lovely reading about their family. The love and care they showed Donny was amazing. I loved the way Mary Grace took care of her younger brother. She was just ten years old, but she made sure she protected him and showed him love. Although I liked Mary Grace, Donny was my favourite character. I loved his optimistic personality.

I liked that this book was centered on bullying. It showed children the effects and consequences of bullying. Bullying is a vice that a lot of children face in our society. They are often bullied by their peers, especially in school. This is a dilemma that must be dealt with, as it has a lot of adverse effects on the victims. I also liked that this book was focused on someone with Down syndrome. It enlightens children about Down syndrome and how to treat people with this condition. I commend the author for this.

This is a great book for children, as it educates them on bullying and Down syndrome. It also teaches them that there are consequences for every wrongdoing. For these reasons, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. It was also exceptionally edited, as I encountered no errors. I recommend this book to children between the ages of 8 and 12. They would easily understand and enjoy it.

Wow... It is not easy on the children to stay without their parents whom they have know for a long time. I wonder what adventures they see and face in California. This is an amazing review.
