We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a captivating novel that immerses readers into a richly imagined world filled with political intrigue, magical realms, and memorable characters.

Galen, the protagonist, found himself in a unique position as he inherited his uncle's Onita Steel business. His journey took him to the Land of the Princes in Magnum Caelum, a region that fell under the jurisdiction of the Voulhirian Kingdom, ruled by King Wilhelm. In this economically struggling area, Lord Eldus Alderman, a former judge, received an appointment from the king. His task was to investigate the mismanagement that had plagued the region.

While Galen honed his skills at the forge in Magnum Caelum, Lord Eldus delved into the mysterious irregularities surrounding the previous management. During this time, an unexpected turn occurred when Lord Eldus received a shipment of peculiar stones from an anonymous sender. The arrival of these stones left him puzzled, wondering if they harbored any ill omens.

In a separate thread of events, Galen and his guide, Rowan, stumbled upon a mage while exploring a mining site in search of "lactis," as per their request. As they investigated further, they uncovered a cache of rare stones. This discovery raised the question of whether these stones held any connection to the ones Lord Eldus had received. Galen, Rowan, and Lord Eldus found themselves entangled in a complex web of events, each discovering intriguing pieces of the puzzle.

Throughout this enthralling tale, the interwoven narratives of Galen, Lord Eldus, and Rowan offer glimpses into the vast and enigmatic world of Magnum Caelum. As they navigate their respective paths, their actions and observations converge, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the resolution of the mysteries surrounding the stones and the true implications they hold for the kingdom.

One of the standout elements of this novel is its well-developed characters. Galen serves as an effective protagonist, with his relatable qualities making it easy for readers to empathize with him. The supporting characters are equally engaging, each with their own distinct personalities and motivations that add depth to the narrative.

The author's writing style is elegant and accessible, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the story. While We are Voulhire is the first book in the series, it is a complete and satisfying story. The length of the book is a big plus too. Based on my lack of dislike for this book, I give it a perfect rating of five out of five stars. The book was excellently edited. This book is a must-read for fantasy enthusiasts and a promising start to what is sure to be an enthralling series.

As a young person, one shouldn't be afraid to take on a challenge, travel, or take on new skills. This is the lesson I learned from Galen's character.
