The story begins with Jill Levy, who arrives in Las Vegas from L.A. in search of closure. Struggling to find a cab due to heavy airport traffic, she encounters Reuben, a driver who offers to take her to her destination. During their trip, Reuben learns that Jill is a film industry producer. He proposes a deal: he will pitch his ideas to her in exchange for professional feedback and help secure a room for the night. Jill agrees but has other plans in mind.
This book excels at bringing characters to life through vivid descriptions. I particularly enjoyed the ghost story of Roland Phoenix and the character of Gina.
