[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
The fantasy book We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first in a series of We Are Voulhire novels. The book centers around a young man by the name of Galen Bray, whose great-uncle dies and leaves him as the sole beneficiary of his will. Galen leaves his home, the first of his many adventures in his newfound life as his great-uncle's benefactor, and heads to the place where his great-uncle lived and died. Soon after his arrival, he meets the troublesome Rowan, who takes him on more adventures around Voulhire. Galen learns a lot of new things in the kingdom of Voulhire. The kingdom is ruled by a king by the name of King Wilhelm. The place is filled with magic and magicians called mages. Some mages are good and some are bad, like Lord Orlin, who is infamous for his crimes with young children, and the powerful and cunning Lord Meldorath, who shows the king that he is not to be underestimated. The book is very entertaining.
The map made the place seem real and made the book more interesting. The character introductions also made the book seem like a truth-based story. The characters themselves are very unique, interesting, and fun. For example, Rowan is always talking nonsense, like when he told Galen about the mayor's daughter. The story is interesting and entertaining. The book is exceptionally well edited and written. There were no errors, and the writing style is excellent.
The book has sexual content that sensitive readers might not like. Specifically, Lord Orli's escapades with young children; but this is not a children's book, so the sexual content should not be an issue. Other than that, I found nothing negative about the book. There were no errors, and the writing style is impressive. From what I have read in this book, the series could make for a great movie.
I recommend that the book be sold to everyone, excluding young children. It is very interesting and unique. Every age group, excluding minors, could enjoy this book very much. The series could actually be made into a great movie or an awesome television series. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.
I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5. The book is well-written and exceptionally well edited. There were no errors. The book is interesting and fun to read.
