[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is an action-sci-fi novel that held my attention from start to finish. The plot and course of events were never boring. I never lost interest in the book because I couldn't predict what was going to happen next. I finished the book in one day and can't wait to see what happens next.
The author introduces the lives of newlyweds Kelly and Tom during their honeymoon. Kelly stumbled upon terrorists and later learned they were planning to blow up the United States with a high-tech but untested warhead. Kelly and Tom joined forces with other Americans to stop them. Will they succeed? Read this book and find out.
I loved how all the characters were really well developed and felt real. I especially like how the author puts subheads into each chapter to give the reader insight into what happens next, reducing confusion about where the characters were and what they were doing at that particular point. I was. The book is well researched, and you can see how much effort the author put into this book. She did a great job capturing all the details about the EMP, the CIA personnel's warheads and how they work, and the actions of the terrorists abroad. The scientific terms used in this book are explained in detail so that the reader can understand.
At the end of the book, the author explained the ending while omitting details to help the reader understand, which was helpful. The author also translated the foreign language used in the book to give a clear understanding of what is happening in this scene.
There is nothing I didn't like about this book. It was well edited and easy for the reader to understand. No mistakes were found. Kudos to the editors for their excellent work. I think readers can gain a lot of knowledge about terrorism and nuclear war.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I see no reason to rate it lower than that. It's a professionally edited, well-structured book. I didn't find a single mistake in the book and the author has done an extraordinary job of making it understandable to me. Recommended for readers who like thrillers and science fiction. This book is suitable for teenagers and adults.
