This book, Defining Moments of a Free Man from a Black Stream, is a moving testament to perseverance, faith, and hard work. Dr. Frank L. Douglas is the representative for Guyana, formerly known as British Guiana. His race plays a significant role in his journey, so understanding the colonial past of the nation he hails from is crucial. He was born into economic difficulties because he was black. Additionally, it implied that he would experience racism all of his life. And the book does a wonderful job of expressing this. In this book, the author highlights significant events in his life.

I adore the author's ability to articulate himself and his ideas in this book. Even though it may seem like the subject of racism has been exhaustively explored, it is fascinating to watch how even successful members of the black community still experience racial profiling, prejudice, and hostility because of their skin color. This brutal reality is eloquently illustrated by the author's experiences. Although there are many different issues covered in this book, racism is clearly present in each significant event and meeting the author describes.

I didn't find anything to dislike about the book. It was exceptionally edited, and so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars as I find the book to be instructive and inspirational. The author had a difficult time in school. He was repeatedly let down by the people he was supposed to look up to. It became illegal for him to defend himself. Due to his skin tone alone, some individuals were unable to tolerate him. People of his race were being treated horribly. Even though reading this was depressing, I learned more about these people's struggles. I also admire Frank's tenacity. Given everything that occurred, giving up would have been acceptable. Frank, though, was a warrior. I appreciate his audacity. Reading about a man with as much tenacity as Frank was interesting.

In my opinion, readers who want to remain driven and motivated should read this book. This book would also resonate well with anyone who enjoys historical and political subjects. I also advise fans of memoirs and autobiographies to read this book.
