[Following is a volunteer review of "Niching Up" by Chris Dreyer.]
At some point, just about everyone thinks of starting their own business. A way to have freedom and make money. Who wouldn't want to do that? This book is a great resource if you are in the planning stage. Basically, Chris talks about the many advantages (and some disadvantages) of being that solo beacon that is a rarity. He gives tips and tons of info on figuring out if being the "only one " selling something or talking about a topic is really the best for you.
Chris talks about being an expert in your field along with knowing your audience. To have the awareness of what your audience was looking for. As he says "You’re Not a Jack of All Trades; You’re a Master of One".
The information on relationships and how they can affect your ability to be a niche business is extremely insightful.
He also gives info into pricing for your item/service, and how to know if you should raise your fee.
This information we be very helpful if you are thinking of starting a business and will also be helpful if you have a business that seems to have dropped in sales.
I give this book 4 out of 5 rating because there is so much information in here that can help anyone with entrepreneurship.
