[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven!" by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul.]
Snatched Up to Heaven! by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is a compelling book that delves into the realm of faith from the perspective of two little girls. Through the dreams of two young sisters, Deepika and Priyanka, the reader is taken on a spiritual journey as they witness vivid depictions of heaven and hell, guided by Jesus himself. The parents, particularly their mother, who held strong Christian beliefs and had a profound fascination with stories related to such realms, did not extensively scrutinize the credibility or significance of their children's remarkable experiences in their dreams. One of the remarkable aspects of this book is that both sisters experienced the same dream, which continued to occur with increasing frequency. This raises intriguing questions about the nature of the heavenly realm and how it aligns with biblical teachings.
I enjoyed reading the children's version of this book and also looked for the full version of it and even watched the videos provided. In the details given, the authors vividly describe the visions of heaven and hell as experienced by Priyanka and Deepika. For better understanding, the authors have given a list of relevant Bible verses that correlate with the sisters' dreams. This helps readers gain a deeper understanding of and engagement with the narrative. While the book touches on universal principles shared by various religions, it predominantly emphasizes Christian beliefs, making it a good starter book for kids. It offers a unique perspective on the spiritual realm and invites readers to ponder the connections between their own beliefs and the experiences shared in the book. I also found the idea of kids describing their dreams to their parents extremely cute.
There is nothing I dislike about this book. The plot style is a bit childish, but considering that this book is a recounting of biblical-inspired stories by two very adorable girls, that's fair enough. The authors also seemed pretty loving and caring. Their love was very apparent in how they made a whole rendition of the Bible just for their sweet daughters. The book also seems to have been professionally edited, as I found only one mistake.
I would rate this very adorable book 5 out of 5 stars. This book provides a thought-provoking exploration of faith through the eyes of two young girls. I would recommend this book as a good beginner-friendly book for people who are curious about biblical teachings. However, this book might not be appropriate for people who don’t appreciate renditions of biblical stories.
