If you are struggling to find your purpose, this is the book for you. The author did a great job of infusing her personal experiences with other written literature to create a book that lays out the framework for finding your purpose through scalable communities. The author also ties in how the communities we create through our purpose can impact not only the participants within these communities, but the world. The step-by-step approach outlined throughout the book was easy to follow and incorporate into practice.

When we think about social media, we do see hundreds of thousands of communities with shared interest. Conversations are fluid throughout the social media communities, however, the author brings a unique perspective to the way we use social media platforms to bring people together. Social media has become a highly addictive tool and through her perspective, I can see where the void is within the social media platforms. Lost is the ability to make meaningful connections with others through a shared purpose. While individuals have the ability to make money on social media platforms, it is hard to create a scalable business that also creates meaningful and impactful connections. This is when she introduces the concept of "cultural software".

Cultural software uses technology to create scalable communities, with an emphasis on impactful interactions. It's a "win-win" solution to bridging the gap between technology and purpose. After reading "Purpose", I have a renewed interest in connecting with others through my desire to effect change through my interests and ideas. "Purpose" also highlights the fact that we no longer have to rely on in-person interactions to create meaninful connections. This book has given me the tools to look at my life today, envision what I want my future to look like, and put into motion the types of communities I want to create online that can change the future. I would rate this book a solid 4/5.
