I rate “Purpose” with an emphatic 5 out of 5! It is a must-read for anyone who finds themselves stuck or unsure in which direction to take their lives or what type of business to start.
The author Gina explains how we get to this stuck or unsure mindset we are presently at, how to go back and locate the source of those stories in our mind and then takes us on a journey on how to move past those stories, build new stories, find our passion(s) or purpose(s). Gina explains that we can have more than one purpose. Some may be small and others large.
It is engaging as you read because I felt like she cared and wanted to help me. Very personal style of writing. I enjoyed the step-by-step format of each chapter, the clear headings and bullet points – all which help to show you where you are on the journey of this reading. In addition, she provides examples to further convey what she is writing about, and assignments to accomplish before moving on to the next step.
Although engaging, this is not a book to rush through. It requires you to stop and think and reflect upon your thoughts and feelings and implement the assignments. One of the first assignments is a 30-day assignment. A time each day (I like mornings) set aside for 30 minutes of writing. During this time, you clear your head of thoughts by writing them down on paper. Then moving on to answer 6 Purpose Questions. Do this consistently for 30 days. Once you have completed the 30-day assignment, THEN you can move on to the next chapter.
This is the first book that I have read that was written in layman terms, that is clear, concise, and also gave me hope to find my purposes/passions.
