[Following is a volunteer review of "Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures" by Catherine A. Pepe.]
Family is everything, and a happy home is even more thrilling for children. Seeing the presence of their father and mother makes children feel even more happy and safe, and that is what Donny and Mary Grace felt in Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe.
Donny, Mary Grace, and their parents went to the zoo together, where they had a bit of a problem with the fact that Donny went missing, but it was easily resolved. Living with her parents and her brother made Mary Grace happy, but what she didn't like was when she got informed that she and Donny would be going to live with their grandparents. This is something she eventually got used to, but things seemed to be going sideways for her in school. Find out if Mary Grace will let this thing bring her down.
The most thrilling thing about this book is that the author opened the minds of readers to the aspect of children. The readers get to go into the minds of children and understand how they think and react to certain things. I loved how the author portrayed the mix of emotions, and by this, I mean the fact that Donny was okay with having to move to a new place, but it was entirely different for Mary Grace because she was okay with living with her parents and being close to her friends.
There is nothing negative about this book. I found no negative aspect or any place where the author could improve, and all these are the reasons why I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book was also exceptionally well edited, and I found no errors in it.
I would recommend this book to children and even to parents because I believe they could learn how children react to certain things.
