[Following is a volunteer review of "Eternity" by Carlos.]
"In sickness and in health, until death do us part." Can you remain faithful to this love covenant? Eternity," by Carlos, presents an unwavering love story between two imperfect individuals coming together to form a perfect union—one without expectations or entitlement.
Eternity revolves around four characters whose personalities become intricately intertwined by the end of the novel. The story commences with a pair of ethereal creatures who decide to engage in a game, each selecting a human to be paired with another. Unbeknownst to the human pairs, they are like pawns in a game of chess. But for what purpose?
The two human lovers initially started as best friends. She always felt at ease with him, and he was nonjudgmental even when aware of her past experiences with random men. They believed they were just friends until they realized there was a growing chemistry between them.
Their newfound relationship flourished, but as they say, good things seldom last forever. The man experiences a terrible accident, rendering him bedridden for months, and doctors suggest he might never regain his physical abilities. This becomes the ultimate test for the woman: will she continue to stand by him through these trying circumstances?
I found Eternity captivating due to its distinct narrative style. While initially feeling like the author was telling rather than showing, I later recognized that both aspects were intricately balanced. This novel introduced me to a new style of writing. Eternity conveys a significant theme, emphasizing the importance of friendship in every romantic relationship. Pairs that start as best friends tend to cultivate enduring connections.
In terms of editing, the book was exceptionally polished, as I couldn't find any errors. Given the aforementioned points, I rate Eternity 5 out of 5 stars. There's nothing I dislike about this book. I recommend it to individuals interested in love literature, bearing in mind that it includes profanity and sexual content, making it unsuitable for children.
