Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book

As someone who never had much interest in sports, I always assumed that it was a primarily physical experience that was enhanced by mental preparation. I never would have anticipated that there could exist an entire book that guides you through the mental journey of learning how to play a sport well. Then, I came across Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by Kalliope Barlis, which delivered what I had not anticipated. It was honestly fascinating to see the mental work it takes to play golf.
The book was enjoyable, but an individual who loves golf or wants to learn how to play it, or even an individual who already knows how to play it but wants to improve their game, will learn a lot from what this book has to offer. From teaching you how to play better to establishing a routine to practice golf to reach your desired level of mastery, the book has everything you could possibly need.
I particularly enjoyed the structure of the book. It followed a very beginner-friendly approach and laid out logical steps and patterns that could help a reader achieve their golf dreams. I also liked that the book emphasizes the need for practice because practice makes perfect. There is also a specific list of skills to work on to improve one’s game that I thought was particularly helpful.
There was nothing that I disliked about this book. The writing was easy to follow and did not beat around the bush, which I appreciated. I also found no errors or typos in the book; it was exceptionally well-edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for delivering what it promises.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys golf or is looking to get into the sport.
