Review of Dark Matter Empire (Book 1)
Imagine yourself working on a project at your workplace when you realize it's almost midnight. You then leave work and head home, thinking about your life. That's when a spaceship lands in front of you and takes you to space. The next time you open your eyes, you are somewhere in the middle of the galaxy alone inside the spaceship, and the AI of the ship calls you Commander. How strange and frightening would that be? You are suddenly the commander of a ship in space, while you didn't even know aliens existed until today. That is exactly what happens to Ryan Stathis, a thirty-year-old aeronautical engineer who's been spending the last seven years of his life programming military aircraft systems. Ryan finds himself in a spaceship that belonged to some aliens, and now he is in control. He communicates with the ship's AI and finds out why he is on that ship and how he can get back home. He also realizes that he has a powerful device called the Alterum, which creates wormholes from one point in space to another. That's why the spaceship landed on Earth. Ryan also finds out that there is a huge and powerful empire that runs on this side of the galaxy. Before taking any action, he notices two missiles coming towards his ship, and now he is under attack. Why is he being attacked suddenly? Is Ryan going to survive in space? Will he be able to get back?
Dark Matter Empire by Alex Zadeh is a thrilling novel that takes you into a new world of space and alien civilizations. The whole idea of one person going to space and living among aliens is just out of the realm of imagination. It's more fun and joyful to be able to communicate with and even make friends with different species in space. Ryan's journey isn't that easy, of course; he gets to face a lot of trouble, and he is on the verge of getting himself killed or trying to find a way back home to his family. I really loved Ryan's character. He is funny and smart. He is the type that knows what to do in specific moments, and his role fits with the scenes.
I liked the story overall, and the ending was very surprising. It made me more interested in reading the second book. There are some other characters we meet in the story, and they are amazing aliens. Even though the book is about stuff happening in space, there's nothing confusing or complicated, and that helps the readers get a clear understanding of everything. Everything is easy and understandable here. The story reminds me of how one can control everything when situations hit hard. The book delivers some great messages. One thing that I learned is that sometimes you have to let go of what you want and do what benefits others. Basically, that can apply in cases where you have to get the thing you want, and that results in the destruction of others around you, or you choose to go the other way and save others even though it will not get you what you want. That's a really difficult thing to do, and we see less of it in life nowadays.
There was nothing I disliked about the book. Everything seems okay. It isn't boring at all, and it's an easy read. The book contains 38 chapters, all of which are short and enjoyable. The book contained a few errors, which didn't bother me at all. Having all that said, I would give it a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I appreciate the author's creativity in this amazing piece of writing. The story also continues in Book 2 of the series.
I recommend Dark Matter Empire to readers who love sci-fi fantasy and enjoy reading fiction related to space. You will get to read about the amazing and interesting life of Ryan in space and his journey to save humanity. This story is a good example, or at least a good taste of alien civilizations, if they exist.
