I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the writing style, which I felt went nicely with the very personal story being told. I thought that gave the book a nice flow. I loved the way the author chose to tell her and her son's story. The idea of alternating chapters between her son's words and the backstory of his life was creative. I thought it was a unique perspective that gave a lot of authenticity to the story. It also helped me, as the reader, feel a connection to both the author and her son ( who, I guess, is also the author). I can see how this fresh point of view could perhaps give the reader a different perspective on handling grief. I found the story both interesting and emotional. I was engaged in reading this book the entire time. I finished it in a fairly short amount of time- I couldn't put it down. I gave this book a very good rating (4/4 and 5/5) because I loved it. I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical errors. Maybe, because of the conversation style ( at times ) of writing and many things being quoted; nonetheless, I didn't notice any. I would absolutely recommend this book to someone dealing with loss. Especially someone grieving a child or loved one lost to addiction. Personally, I will be gifting this book to my sister-in-law. She lost her son, my nephew, to addiction years ago and I believe this would assist her on her healing journey. Sadly, this is all too common in our society today. It is unfortunate that a book of this nature is needed, but I would suggest this book to others. It offers a different approach to a story of loss and, I feel, could benefit people also dealing with loss.
