The One Who Rules by Tanner Owen is a book relevant to our times. An average human comes across a global conspiracy, only to expose himself to the protectors of the conspiracy. The cost of this acquired knowledge could be catastrophic. Will he be able to reveal the global conspiracy? What is the price he would have to pay?

Let's start with the positives of the book. The plot beautifully explains the dangers of power. We can relate to the subject as it is relevant to the things happening in the world today. However, it is the author's caliber to produce the twists and turns. There is a lot of unpredictability as the story progresses. The protagonist has a unique way of escaping obstacles, which is funny and simply brilliant. The writer can explain the different aspects simply and effectively. The book also uses humor in a very effective manner. The book's journey is much more fun than the central plot, which is common to many thrillers we see today.

However, sometimes a blessing turns into a curse. The writer's ability to explain things sometimes slows down the narrative. The book could have included fewer details of daily life, which add nothing to the story. Its only contribution to the entire description was that it made the plot a little slow, which is my personal opinion. The book has only a minor error, but it does not hamper the overall reading experience. The exceptional editing ensures that the book stands out.

Considering the above, I would give the book 5 out of 5 stars. The overall journey and perfect characterization compensate for the slower narrative at places, so I would not deduct any stars for the same. However, I recommend the book to fans of the thriller genre. The book can hold your attention until the end.
