[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
The book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an excitement-filled book. It is a fantastical world where one gets to explore, and mages play the villains of the story. Here, kings and princes, lords and ladies, and common people all play important roles in creating the world they are living in.
The book is a part of the series called 'We are Voulhire' and depicts the lives of different characters and shows how each has their own set of circumstances that they learn to overcome or come to terms with. The story follows the journey of the characters and how they are all influenced by the events that take place in the country they live in. Within this story, we get to read how one of the characters, King Wilhelm, tries to control the situation surrounding his old friend Meldorath, a mage.
The author has done a wonderful job of introducing the country, Voulhire, that the characters are mostly connected to. The characters themselves have been given a small introduction in the form of a glossary. This helps the casual reader feel connected with the story. The chaos, betrayal, and mystery that surround the plotline make it interesting. It makes the reader anticipate what the next move is going to be by any of the characters.
The chapters at first seem disconnected from each other, but as a reader reads each page, the story slowly develops and the events that occur to each character seem to be interconnected.
The only problem I find in the book is that there is a lack of certain characters after a brief mention. Otherwise, I find the book very interesting, with a new view of a magical world.
I did not find any misprints in the book. So, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I can see it building upon the current plotline and creating an exciting new book as a part of the series.
