Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing is a science fiction novel written by Kordel Lentine. It is the first book of the From Under The Sun series. It follows a teenager named Terrance Brown and how his life changed when a bowling ball attacked him. Terrance Brown is your average nerd. He has great grades, no friends and trouble with bullies. One day, on his home to school, Terrance encounters a bowling ball that falls out of the sky and wreaks havoc on everything in the vicinity. Terrance, who is the only person in the vicinity, becomes famous as the survivor of the bowling ball bombing. But no one can find out where the bowling ball came from.

Later, Terrance finds a puzzle box which promises to reveal the mystery of the bowling ball bombing when solved. Aided by an unlikely friend, Terrance sets out to solve the puzzle. Will he solve the puzzle and find the mystery of the bowling ball that almost killed him?

Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing is very interesting through and through. The chapters are short and pack a punch. The characters are multi-dimensional and seem very real. I like how there are many layers to Terrance’s character. He is very kind and socially conscious, but secretly he is also shallow and materialistic. Although he is considered a nerd by his peers, he is very witty and a good friend.

I also liked the way the character of Blaire Reynolds is written. On the surface, she seems like a stereotypical popular girl. She is beautiful, blond, and a cheerleader that is coveted by everyone. But she is also very kind and considerate. She doesn’t have any inhibitions in hanging out with Terrance, who is not popular. The sci-fi elements of the book are fabulous and very imaginative. The author’s vision of the future is very interesting and is not typical.

There is nothing I disliked about the book. The scientific explanations in the book can be confusing, but it is not necessary for the readers to understand everything. It is intentional, as the protagonist, Terrance, is also confused most of the time with the futuristic technology he is met with. There is no profanity or violence in the book. There are no erotic scenes. I couldn’t find any errors. The book seems to be professionally edited.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is well edited, interesting and imaginative. I recommend this book to young adults and adults. I also recommend this book to readers who love science fiction and mystery.

Though I don't read science fiction I enjoy reading mystery, and the idea of an attacking bowling ball falling from the sky sounds fun.
Thank you for your review!
