Review of The Prison of Power
What happens when women dominate the world, where men are depicted as violent creatures that need to be eradicated? 'The Prison of Power' by G. Michael Smith vividly portrays the consequences of a world without gender equality. As the story unfolds, we enter a world transformed by the #MeNow movement following a major global incident in which many males and females were brutally killed. This incident led to the formation of a government led solely by females, where males have no role.
Furthermore, the plot takes us through various characters' perspectives, providing unique angles and scenarios that enhance the depth and intrigue of the narrative. The story progresses from the struggles of females to those of males and ultimately holds a promise of equality.
In this book, the characters weave a diverse and complex array of emotions and experiences. Eve's journey is marked by the trauma of a brutal attack, leading to her deep resentment towards men. Nisheeta, Eve's half-sister, serves as a police officer striving to maintain societal balance amidst the turmoil. Margaret Carver, the daughter of a prominent political leader, undergoes a harrowing kidnapping experience, testing her resilience. Quinlan Smith, a smart and thoughtful young boy, grapples with the fear of his actions' consequences. Sean Kilkenny's desire for revenge against females for his family's tragic fate drives a haunting subplot. Lastly, Vihaan Khatri's dual role as a trained loverboy and spy adds intrigue to the intricate web of characters in this gripping narrative.
The story contains strong language and disturbing scenes that might be triggering for some readers. The novel, designed for an adult audience, seamlessly integrates elements of violence and moderate erotica into the narrative, skillfully using them as integral components that shape the destinies of its characters. While the bold opening chapter might challenge some readers, it lays the groundwork for a future filled with intrigue and uncertainty.
Moreover, the inclusion of scientific elements added an exciting layer to the reading experience, enhancing my enjoyment of the story. It's not just a book; it's an exploration that seamlessly blends science with storytelling.
This story underscores the importance of gender equality and shows how shifts in power dynamics between men and women can impact society. It's a useful tool for discussing and understanding the significance of gender balance in creating a fair and equitable world.
What I liked most in this book is the way it skillfully presented various characters' perspectives, allowing me to grasp the intricate plot from different angles and scenarios. It added depth and intrigue to the story. To fully appreciate this multifaceted narrative, delve into the book and explore the world through the eyes of its diverse characters.
Overall, 'The Prison of Power' is a gripping tale that delves deep into societal change, gender equality, and the consequences of a major global shift. It's a must-read for those seeking a thought-provoking journey that combines complex themes with compelling storytelling. I loved this book from start to finish. It was incredibly well edited; I didn't spot any major mistakes. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that there are no page numbers printed on the pages, making it a bit difficult to note down specific points. However, that didn't affect the overall reading experience for me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, so it's a solid 5 out of 5 rating from me! To fully experience this fantastic journey, dive into the book and uncover its intriguing secrets!

This book sounds so good. A world dominated by women would be interesting thought but I believe everyone should have equal power. Yet, I would like to read this book and have the experience you had. Seems like another reverse-Handmaid's Tale-esque story. I find this type of story to be heavy-handed when it comes to showcasing its themes. Will this be any different? Gotta read to find out.Anu Anand wrote: ↑28 Sep 2023, 13:13 [Following is a volunteer review of "The Prison of Power" by G Michael Smith.]
