This book is written in a effort to educate the public about niching. Dreyer believes, and has the evidence to prove, that "niches hold your riches". Dreyer has effectively done this in his own company and has not only the knowledge but the application evidence to support his claim that niching up is actually beneficial for business owners. He gives an outline of cons in chapter two followed by seven chapters of supporting evidence that niching is actually a benefit for many businesses. He discusses in chapter 2 how to consider niching with experience and data and even identify additional opportunities. Then Dreyer looks at the benefits of becoming an expert and how to attain expertise and dont forget the application. Expertise means nothing without application. Once you become an expert, you can charge more and in Chapter 4 Dreyer looks at premium pricing. With premium pricong and expertise you can more effectively convert prospects into sales and the next chapter discusses conversions. What follows is better relationships whoch Dreyer calls relationship equity (without the creepy sales snake oil). Having relationship equity means referrals are coming. Im the business world its called a pipeline. Finally the last thing he looks at is efficiency. Increasing efficiency will automatically increase profit in its own but niching makes efficiency possible since you would have similar clients with similar needs. All of these topics feeds into or off of one another. So yeah, it sounds scary and there are reasons to take the time to consider carefully whether niching is right for you.
