[Following is a volunteer review of "YOU CAN TALK TO ANYONE:" by Ellen Dawson.]
The book You Can Talk To Anyone by Ellen Dawson is a gift for those who struggle to adjust to their social lives after the pandemic hit, it’s a reminder for us that we can get back to it. People not only strived during the covid but its after-effects were altogether a different challenge not only the physical problems it brought but also shattered our mental health. Despite the presence of social media, face time, or other means of connecting with our near and dear ones; there was this continuous disconnection that we all felt during that time, and in fact, now also we face numerous hurdles going back to our normal social lives. The book starts with the author explaining her own experiences after the pandemic ceased; like there was a reluctance to talk to others, go out, etc, which any reader can find relatable. But soon we are introduced to the ways to battle off this constant reluctance we all feel now and then. For instance, the author advises us to write a task journal, become a bit welcoming to social gatherings, be patient with the results, and many other ways to go back to the pleasant lives we once had. The author’s relatable approach targets the exact issues we all somehow face to adjust.
This book is quite supportive in this fast-paced life, it brings positivity and hope, that we can return to our old selves. The author’s constant efforts to help us throughout the book should be appreciated, and the writing style keeps one indulged in reading. This support guide aims to uncover all the hardships we faced and are facing to return to our normal lives, and serves as an initiative to help us return to our once-enjoyed social circle.
I found nothing unpleasant in this book and would like to appreciate the flawless editing for which, I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
Anyone finding it hard to get back to their social lives can read this book.
