[Following is a volunteer review of "Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis.]
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by Kalliope Barlis provides guidance on how to get better at golf faster. The book is divided into three parts. In the first part, she emphasises the use of thinking and Neuro-Linguistic Programming when practicing golf. She briefly explains how each shot is a good shot. The Swish Pattern for Golfing Excellence is explained, which teaches to let go of unplanned shots with undesirable results and have intended shots with amazing outcomes. In part two, which is about practicing golf, the author describes numerous skills to practice, like aim and alignment, club distance, holding the club, chipping, etc. She also explains sidehill, uphill, and downhill lies with respect to the position of the ball and player. In the third part, she talks about playing golf, scoring, strategies, and maintaining the routine.
This book was short and apt as a handbook. I loved the professional and friendly tone of the author. Initially, I thought the book was entirely about the mental practice of golf. As the book progressed and the author used golf-related terms, it gave off a more professional vibe. I also liked her 15:5 method for learning new things. My experience of reading the vivid visualisation of sight, sound, and feeling while making the goal was awesome. I commend her for clarifying left-handed players at the beginning of the book. The questions put forth by the author provide clear and precise clarifications of what we want from our game. Also, the illustrations given in the book made the book more interesting. Overall, the book was great.
There was absolutely nothing I disliked about the book. I did not find any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors throughout the book, so this book was exceptionally well edited. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book to golf players. This will be helpful to people who wish to start from scratch as well as those who are currently practicing to get better. It will also be of use to those who wish to practice at home.
