"Play Golf Better Faster: From Weekend Golfer to Pro Golfer in Two Years" by Kalliope Barlis is an absolute gem for golf enthusiasts and those looking to master the game. This book, made possible through the expertise of Dr. Richard Bandler in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and the insights of golf coach Chuck Hogan, presents a powerful and unique approach to improving your golf game.

The author has compiled this book based on her extensive research and personal journey to improve her golf skills. It's thoughtfully structured into three key sections, each offering valuable insights into different aspects of the game: 'Using Your Brain,' 'Practicing Your Game,' and 'Playing Your Game.'

Barlis introduces the concept of NLP applied to golf, a technology of thought and language that can elevate your performance by honing your mental approach. She brilliantly emphasizes the impact of imagination on creating the best possible shots, whether it's an easy putt or a challenging fairway.

She also provides step-by-step exercises that are both vivid and effective. Barlis encourages readers to perform mindful exercises before sleeping and upon waking, harnessing the power of the unconscious mind while integrating conscious awareness into the learning process. Her explanations are clear and guide you in fostering a vivid imagination while practicing.

Barlis delves into the impact of beliefs on our performance. She passionately discusses how altering one's beliefs about themselves and their abilities can be life-transforming. Belief in your potential, coupled with desire, can lead you to achieve your goals on the golf course. The book is not just about theory; it also provides scientific explanations to support the principles presented, like the concept of the mirror neuron.

One of the standout features of the book is its simplicity and clarity. Barlis employs simple language and complements it with visual aids such as pictures and illustrations to effectively convey golf concepts. The step-by-step exercises are particularly helpful, and the book is professionally edited with minimal errors. Personally, I couldn't find any aspect of this book that I disliked. I wholeheartedly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for its valuable content, accessible presentation, and practical exercises.

In conclusion, this book is an invaluable resource for golf enthusiasts and those eager to improve their game. It offers a fresh perspective on golf, trimming down the overwhelming sea of information and focusing on what works best for you. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their golf game and experience the joy of mastering this sport. It's a refreshing take on golf that can lead to significant improvements, and I believe it's a must-read for golf enthusiasts of all levels.

Let me first start with saying that I don't play golf. With that said, I still found your review especially interesting! I've been seeing a lot of authors tackling the concept of mindset with regards to sports performance. Based on your review, it sounds like much of what is discussed could translate well to other sports or activities. I wouldn't mind reading this for that reason alone! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this book with us! Until next time...

Got to know about NPL and the power of training our minds. I have read three books by the author. They are promising, and NLP is actually being used by several in competitive sports.
Thank you for your detailed review; it will help prospective readers.
