If you play golf, you’re always focused on how to get the ball into the hole in the fewest strokes. As you read “Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book,” you will be able to answer a key question: Can you use your mind to improve your game?

This book starts off with how we think and teaches what to do with the good memories and how to approach the poor/bad ones. Moving on, the book will demonstrate how amplifying three senses has the power to optimize your game. Reversing bad shots into good ones by utilizing your mind in simple steps can be transformative for the golf player. Next is planning your future golf play through answering a set of simple yet thought-provoking questions and engaging steps to visualize such desired future. Practicing golf focuses on learning outcomes. Then, the quality of practice is broken down into smaller tips and strategies, how else can one become an expert at golf? Surprisingly, you’ll come across a section called ‘Practice at Home,’ containing hands-on and novel tasks at your fingertips: The hypnogogic state was my favorite. Playing golf, last in the book, is filled with lots of ideas to take your play to the next level: tips, strategies, and more, and inspirational and insightful pages that will be like the cherry on top.

Author Kalliope Barlis has this beautiful ability to write sentences and ideas that flow very smoothly; she has put information in just the right amount so that it is digested and enjoyed all along. I’m not a golf player but have grasped most of the ideas/insights/golf terms in the book with ease. Kalliope Barlis has to be commended for her simplicity and clarity to put many ideas together into a short book that not only teaches but also inspires and motivates.

The only thing that I’m not sure I agree with is the statement that says that our brains don’t know the difference between what is observed and what is performed, as in my humble opinion, observing and performing are not the same. The book provides easy exercises at the end of every chapter, and these are not the usual exercises; you’ll be surprised by what you take away from them. Not only that, but the book has included a section at the beginning of some chapters so that you are prepared to make the most of what comes in the following pages. (I truly enjoyed those sections a great deal.)

“Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book” can help you tap into your mind and imagination potential so that they powerfully elevate your game to levels previously unimagined. If you’re already into playing golf or are new to it, this book is going to offer so much insight and many fresh ideas to your toolkit. The reading experience is enhanced by the fact that the book has been professionally edited, a plus! There’s nothing to improve in it, so having said that, I’ll rate it 5 out of 5 stars. And the best is that many of the skills found in this handbook can work wonders in so many areas of your life as well.
