[Following is a volunteer review of "Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis.]
Play Golf Better Faster The Little Golf Bag Book: From Weekend Golfer to Pro Golfer in Two Years by Kalliope Barlis is an instruction manual for how to improve your golf game. This book is not solely directed at those who have no experience with the game but for whomever is interested in improving their skill level.
Barlis begins the book with a short list on how to make the most out of reading this book. The process listed within this list is one of utilizing the subconscious level of your brain to make the most of using the book. By doing this repeatedly, the goal of this book is to slowly integrate the lessons taught over a period of time. The point is that every time you pick up the book, your brain and body will learn something new to implement and this will eventually lead to a perfect game of golf.
Before reading this book, I had not realized that golf was both a physical and mental game. I had assumed that golf resided solely within the realm of physical sports. I never would have guessed that there was such a large mental component to it. I was pleasantly surprised with how this book changed my opinion of the game. The skills and methods taught within the book, however, can also be applied to one’s everyday life. In this manner, Play Golf Better Faster The Little Golf Bag Book: From Weekend Golfer to Pro Golfer in Two Years is not just a book for those who like golf but also for people who require a bit more discipline in their lives.
The only complaint that I have about this book is that the individual parts of it were a bit too short for my liking. I can, however, understand was this was done as it is probably easier to capture the attention of the intended audience with chapters that are brief.
I would have to give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It was very well edited, and the author took a lot of care and attention when writing this work. Both amateurs and professional within golf would enjoy this book as well as people who are just interested in learning more about the game.
