A Voice from Heaven: From Earthly Struggles to Thriving in the Afterlife by Alexander V. Girman & Cynthia J. Girman is an interesting and emotional book. Alec was adopted by Cynthia and Tom a few months after birth. His mother was from Russia and was a heroin addict. He was taken to school and got into drugs when he was in sophomore high school. He was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and later Asperger's syndrome. This led to reduced performance in schoolwork, but his love for technology proved to be of help to him.

When he was an intern at an artificial intelligence software company in Washington, D.C., he was already a drug addict. His parents tried several rehabilitation methods to bring him back to normalcy. The loneliness and depression he had made him look for friendship in drugs. He had an overdose of Kratom and lost his life. This book speaks more of his communication with his mother in his afterlife. He tells his mother about what he does in the spiritual world. Get yourself a copy of this book to understand.

I like the way Alec describes the afterlife activities. I got to understand more about the spiritual world. I admired the fact that the afterlife is filled with happiness and celebrations of nature. He also speaks of angels and guiding spirits who are even in the physical world. I love the way the author was able to incorporate stories about Alec's physical life and the afterlife. The simple language used in describing this made me connect the two stories in different worlds. The stories in the book answered my questions about the afterlife. The presence of angels and guiding spirits with different functions were the things I usually asked myself about. There is a lot of fantasy in the book. I was able to visualize the way Alec and his mother spoke.

There is nothing to dislike in the book. The book is detailed enough for proper understanding. The positives above and the excellent editing have made me give it a perfect rating. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. There is a lot to learn from the book. We should control life and never allow it to have control over us. A few minutes of our mornings should be dedicated to meditation to clear our minds and let in only positive thoughts. Above all, we should prioritize self-love and not let worldly things rule us.

I recommend this book to all those struggling with drug addiction, depression, and suicidal thoughts. This will help one learn how to walk over these challenges and even contact the author. Those who are fighting guilt over the loss of a close person should also read it. This book advises that it's never their fault to lose a loved one. Alec was able to get rid of the guilt his mother was having.
