We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a connection of stories about the land of Voulhire, the land of the three princes, the sojourn of Garen Bray, tales of magic, and acts for and against humanity. Garen, a citizen of Voulhire, was escaping the warring cities of the prince, chased by some men; he was running for his life. On reaching the shore, he tried to board a ship to Voulhire, but the ship's commander refused passage. He suddenly brought out a mystery letter and gave it to the commander, who, after reading it, allowed him to pass and kill all his pursuers.

King Wilhelm ruled the kingdom of Voulhire. He had four sons (princes), but he feared that his sons had resolved their differences in a quiet conspiracy against him to oust him from the throne, so he devised a plan: he gave them small islands, each with a small army and lots of weapons. Within two years, the sons were locked in a civil war, using the natives of these islands as soldiers. As he had planned, the islands' geography and natural resources gave each prince no advantage, so the war dragged on for years.

As the war continued, the land of the princes became a place of starvation and death. With the need to claim his uncle's estate, Garen traveled to Magnum Caelum, where he met with Rowan, his uncle's executor, who helped him get all the uncle's property. The book is a beautiful piece. I like the character development in the book. The writing style of the author is a positive aspect of the book.

I do not dislike the book. There are no negative aspects to the book. The reader will understand that you are the author of your own story and that your story will consist of whatever you want it to be. The book editing is flawless. I rate the book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz 5 out of 5 stars. The reasons for my rating are above.

Fantasy lovers with an eye for a good story will appreciate the book. I recommend the book to young adults.
